Oh good. Well, this was fun. LOL. I am just glad I know how to use this now. I have tried for the longest time. I know that sounds silly, but I don't do a whole lot of discussing online outside of facebook.

When this series starts doing proper police procedure, I'll harsh on Sarah for her actions. This whole season, with all its overgrown paths, has been about selfishness. Last I checked, as far as detective work goes, there is no "I" in "team". But the writers don't follow that logic. They send their detectives running blindly around corners to be tackled and beaten. They have innocent men abandon their families. They have witnesses/people with information to die without revealing anything. They have broken cops taking the law into their own hands.
If you take all the tidbits of stories and put them on their own, it might work, which is what they attempted to do this season. But you cannot do that with an ensemble cast, which Veena has yet learned how to write for. For example, Danette just now talks with Lyric, a month after Kallie disappearing?

Man, I agree genius. It is one thing to have bad guys that you love to hate, but it is quite another to lose compassion for the main characters. I *get* accepting their humanity and tendency to make mistakes, but just how understanding do we have to be? Am I going to spend the next season watching Linden fiddle around and eff everyone up and over? Maybe it is the mom in me, and perhaps it is the wife in my, but I am more convinced that it is simply the woman in me that finds her character to be a big cliché. The only reason Holder left Caroline was because he had wants Linden, and the only reason he went back to Caroline is because Linden rejected him. Now, they are back to being shallow buddies? Am I missing something, or are the writers missing important elements in basic psychology in their character development? I also loathed how Linden shot Skinner in the end. What a selfish wench. Denying all of those families any closure by forever shutting his mouth was just more than I could take. Perhaps, I am just too "superficial" to understand how "deep" the end really was. It may be a work of utter genius, and I am just not intelligent enough to comprehend it. Please tell me, what am I missing?

But you cannot do that with an ensemble cast, which Veena has yet learned how to write for. For example, Danette just now talks with Lyric, a month after Kallie disappearing? Great point about Linden. This season, she was almost like a freelance cop on the case. She's always marched to a different drummer and that's one reason why we liked her. I still wish she wouldn't have killed Skinner though! I hope TK doesn't end up being like all of the other cop shows. Frankly, I'm not a fan of them and only got into TK because it's like a miniseries which allows for more in-depth character development, with tons of suspense thrown in. Just like in a good book, I don't expect all of the loose ends to be resolved or neatly tied into a bow by the end, but still... you're so right - there didn't seem to be logical follow-up, chronology, etc. For example, a lot of viewers wanted to know what happened the night Trisha was killed. Did Ray know Skinner did it or did he surmise it based on the way Skinner handled his case? Maybe that's not the best example of a loose end that should've been tied up. But not trying to find out more about Bullet's intel had me scratching my head. Or, was Angie or Kallie the crispy critter? As for the finale, as time's passed since I first saw it, what lingers most is feeling creeped out by Skinner, his stone-cold remarks about what he'd done, his admission that he killed many more, that he was probably luring Linden to that deep, cold lake in order to kill her too (not quite sure why he didn't), etc. So I guess in that respect, it was a fitting ending to a show about a serial killer.

rp3 - Maybe we shouldn't expect a show called "The Killing" to produce many likeable characters! Seriously though, the bad mom meme hits a nerve. When I mentioned earlier the piling on and cynicism being too much, I should've added bad parenting to the mix. And talk about Psychology 101 - isn't it rather weird that a serial killer and a career criminal like Ray came off as more loving to their children than Linden did?

I loved our partially broken human being Linden but Murdering Jimmy is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy past broken for me she just fought to save Rays life sheesh how will Veena repair her? Will our beloved Holder ruined by Linden i do not think the head bump was anything other than a drunk guy who was hurting he was not that into her any female there at that moment he might have done the same thing women communicate their grief with words men use sex to communicate

Yes, I wonder how this can all be fixed. We have Linden's word against Skinner's because she is really the only one who knows the full story. Pretty much everyone knows they were sleeping together. It may end up looking like a lover's quarrel gone bad. Where is the justice?
